mac mail missing password field

Sorry, but this does not work for me either. I have a gmail account and I changed the password. There seems to be no intuitive way to update the password within mac mail. The password field is missing and going to internet accounts shows no method of changing the password either. So much for macs being intuitive and easy to use.... Apple you really are losing your touch.

I was able to change the password without deleting but in a VERY unintuitive way. I went in and edited my outgoing smtp, then selected gmail, then advanced, then changed the password. Not exactly the easy way that Apple tries to do things.

Hey djb72563,
I understand that you recently changed your Yahoo account's password and need to update it. To do this, you need to go to System Preferences > Internet Accounts. This will allow you to change that information and it will update this in Mail and other apps that use this account. Take a look at the article below for more information. If this is not your version of OS X, this will still work with previous recent versions and even OS X El Capitan.

Having the same problem with a Gmail account. System Preferences > Internet Accounts does not allow for a password change either. Only Description and Name can be changed there.

Yeah unfortunately this does seem like a real bug. If using the connection doctor doesn't allow you to change the password, you will need to delete the account and then re-add it.

Having the same problem with my Gmail account. This is very frustrating. Guess I have to delete the account and start from scratch.
